Soulmate Client Spotlight: Anne's Journey to 2.0!
/Bloat. That’s what got me here. Well, that and a morning commute listening to a popular podcast with which I never had anything in common. Except that morning the guest happened to be hormone expert Candace Burch. Her words resonated with me – it was like she could predict all of my bodily complaints before I even thought of them. So as soon as I hit my office I ordered the testing kit. BONUS – the package also included a one hour consultation with health coach Jessica Suchan. Except, at this point I just wanted to take some supplements, deflate my gut and go on my merry way. But if it’s for free, it’s for me so I booked the call with Jess…
…that was over a year ago but I’m skipping ahead. I went into that first call with no expectations because “I didn’t need a health coach.” I ate “healthy” (my calories were meticulously counted, I only ate low fat, sprouted, whole grains), I exercised regularly and never deviated from my Type A programming. Except what I wasn’t admitting to myself was that the 3 pm daily slump that led to a snack and the repeated snooze button-ing every morning weren’t actually normal…or at least, they shouldn’t be. Truthfully, I don’t recall how I came to that realization but I do know that it happened in that first call with Jess because everything we talked about just made sense. Jess took the mystery out of fueling my body (fat, fiber, protein, greens – REPEAT). And I swear before we even got off the phone she had a Pinterest board created for me with an immediate library of recipes to jump start my journey. But in the subsequent year-plus, she gave me so much more…
…I can’t say that Jess changed my personality, of course, but her infectious spirit, supportive counseling and downright cool-girl-vibe awakened something in me. Yes, my digestion is much more regular and my energy sustains me through the day but more than that I just fee balanced, like I’ve been recalibrated both mentally and physically. Exercise sometimes seemed like work because it was the same thing over and over…now trying new classes and activities is like an adventure and going back to the old faithfuls is like visiting a friend. And while my relationship with my husband has always been wonderful there is something about the designated dates and exploring new places (playing “tourist” in our own state) that is exciting and different and gives us that same giddy feeling we get on vacation. So now it’s on to the next chapter with Jess’s 4 Weeks to Balance & Bliss: New Year, 2.0 You because I want to keep the momentum going with clear and meaningful intentions of how I want to “be” in the coming year. And surrounding myself with like-minded women to support that? Well that’s just a bonus. Just like I thought health coach Jess Suchan was a year ago. But now I know she is so much more…
